Stocky is gone. Your purchasing still has to happen.
For years, Stocky was the default way to manage purchase orders on Shopify. Shopify delisted it from the App Store on February 2, 2026, and shut it down for good on August 31, 2026. If you relied on it, you're now creating POs by hand, in spreadsheets, or not at all.
The good news: you can end up with a better setup than you had. Stocky never did some of the things that matter most to a growing store, like keeping product costs accurate automatically or reading supplier invoices for you.
What you actually need to replace
Before choosing an app, list what Stocky did for you. For most stores, it comes down to five jobs:
- Creating purchase orders for each supplier.
- Receiving stock and updating inventory when it arrives.
- Tracking suppliers: who you buy from, and at what price.
- Forecasting: knowing what to reorder, and when.
- Keeping costs right, so your margins are real.
That last one is where most stores quietly lose money. If your product costs in Shopify don't change when supplier prices do, every margin report you look at is wrong.
What to look for in a Stocky replacement
Automatic cost updates. When you receive a PO, your product costs should update on their own. Look for a choice of method: weighted average, FIFO, or replacement cost.
Landed costs and currency conversion. If you pay shipping, duties, or buy in another currency, those need to land in your unit cost. Otherwise you're undercounting what each product really costs.
Fast PO creation. Typing a 40-line invoice into a PO takes most people 15 to 20 minutes. A good app lets you create POs manually, from a CSV, or straight from the supplier's invoice.
Supplier cost history. You should be able to see what you paid each supplier over time, and compare suppliers for the same product.
Forecasting. Sales velocity and demand forecasts tell you what's about to run out, before it does.
How Procuro replaces Stocky
Procuro was built for exactly these jobs, and it goes further than Stocky did:
- Create POs three ways: manually, by CSV import, or by uploading a supplier invoice PDF. Procuro AI reads the invoice and builds the PO for you.
- Costs update when you accept a PO, using weighted average, FIFO, or replacement cost.
- Currency conversion and landed costs are built into every PO, so your unit costs include what you actually paid.
- Supplier cost tracking shows how each product's cost changes over time and across suppliers.
- Demand forecasting and inventory value reporting show what to reorder and what your stock is worth.
Procuro merchants have processed over 15,000 line items so far, saving an estimated 750+ hours of manual entry.
How to switch in an afternoon
- Install Procuro and start the free trial (14 days on Starter, Standard and Pro; 21 days on Enterprise and Scale). See plans and pricing.
- Add your suppliers. Use the supplier list you exported from Stocky, if you have one.
- Recreate any open orders as Procuro POs. The fastest way is to upload the supplier's invoice or order confirmation and let Procuro AI build it.
- Receive your next shipment in Procuro, and watch your product costs update automatically.
The bottom line
Losing Stocky is a good moment to fix what it never did well. Pick a replacement that keeps your costs accurate without manual work, and that gets your purchase orders built in minutes, not half an hour.
